April graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh with her master’s degree in Community/Mental Health Counseling. She is a National Certified Counselor and is a Licensed Professional Counselor.

April has worked with children and adolescents experiencing serious emotional, behavioral, and mental health issues. She has worked with these youth and their families for over 5 years in various milieu including day treatment, residential treatment, and in-home. She also has experience providing individual, family and group work for adults with disabilities.

April appreciates a Person-Centered approach to therapy, placing emphasis on the relationship that is built between ther therapist and client. She believes that through the experience of a genuine, non-judgemental relationship, individuals are able to fully explore the thoughts, feelings, beliefs, and behaviors they would like to change or improve upon. With this Person-Centered approach, April also likes to incorporate Cognitive-Behavioral techniques to assist individuals in discovering how their thoughts and feelings can influence their behaviors.

April is also interested in addiction and substance abuse and hopes to one day obtain a specialty in substance abuse counseling.
