Emily Kaminski, LCSW

Emily received her Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She enjoys working with individuals of all ages, particularly adolescents, adults and families. Her approach to therapy is strength-based, person-centered, holistic and trauma informed. She ensures that all her clients have an opportunity to explore and experiment with their own journey to healing and wellness across a range of mental health challenges. She is particularly interested in providing treatment for individuals and families who have experienced trauma. Emily is dedicated to supporting clients through trauma processing and providing education and skills training for managing symptoms of trauma, while also acknowledging and exploring how all our life experiences are intertwined and affect one another. Emily incorporates things like yoga, mindfulness, meditation, aromatherapy and movement into her treatment process to assist clients with increasing awareness of how the body systems are impacted by our life experiences.

She has a background in working with survivors of sexual assault, U.S. Military Veterans and individuals with severe and persistent mental illness. She has worked with individuals in the community ,in their homes, as well as having experience in a residential treatment facility for co-occurring substance use and mental illness.

Some of the more traditional approaches Emily has experience with and training in are: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma-Informed Care, Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Motivational Interviewing. Emily has a special interest in Cognitive Processing Therapy, Prolonged Exposure Therapy, EMDR and Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy-all focusing on the treatment of trauma.

Emily provides outpatient care in the Oregon clinic as well as school-based services within the Oregon and Mt. Horeb school districts.
