Hank Bothfeld, MSW, LCSW

Outpatient Therapist

Henry “Hank” Bothfeld has his Master’s Degree in Social Work from UW-Madison and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.

His goal as a counselor is to help people discover and utilize their strengths to overcome barriers to their well-being such as feelings of despair, hopelessness, low self-esteem, and “being stuck” or negative patterns of thinking and unwanted actions.

Together, in a safe place free of judgment, you and Hank will identify the issues and goals you want to address and then find the needed tools to produce positive and lasting change.  One such tool is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy; it is used to help reframe how you think, which in turn changes how you feel.  It helps people find a balanced perspective and view life through a more positive lens.

“Before my career as a counselor, I worked in film production, interactive multi-media, and Internet and telecommunications product development.  While my business career was rewarding, I’ve always had a deep-seated interest in how the mind works and I feel fortunate to have found a career later in life that allows me to help others, as others have helped me.”

“I am very lucky to have been married to my wife for 34 years, and having raised three children in our old fixer-upper farmhouse in rural southwest Wisconsin.  I love going to movies, playing hockey, reading, and spending time with family and our many dogs and cats!”

Hank provides outpatient therapy at the Oregon, WI and Dodgeville, WI clinic locations.
