John Weiss, MS, MFT-IT

John received his Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Edgewood College in 2018. John also has a Master’s degree in Applied English Linguistics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison (2001). John has an extensive background working with adolescents and their families in educational settings. He has over 20 years of experience in coaching adolescents at the high school and college level.

John has a solution-focused approach to mental health issues; working to find what is working and then amplifying the positive. He incorporates a “systems” approach to improving mental and emotional wellbeing. In this way, John involves all aspects of a client’s life in addressing psychological health concerns.

John’s practice includes working with children and adolescents, families in crisis and couple’s work. His goal is to work collaboratively with each client, utilizing his or her insight and wisdom and strengths to create meaningful and lasting changes.

John provides outpatient services at our Oregon location as well as school based therapy within the Oregon, Mt. Horeb and Pecatonica school districts.
